Go Jesus, it’s ya birthday!
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)
“Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” – Luke 2:11 (NIV)
It can be easy to forget the true meaning for the season amidst the chaos of shopping for presents, opening presents, and traveling cross-country to visit family. I am so very grateful for a forgiving, merciful and all loving God who loves me (and you) so much that He sent His son to this sin filled earth so that we may have an eternal, sin free and everlasting life. It doesn’t get much better than that.
I leave you with one final note:
I read this quote by Glynnis Whitwer today – “The goal isn’t to have a perfect Christmas. The goal is to be with Jesus.” – and thought it was too good not to share.
